      Couple things I would suggestion checking 1. The bolts and screws for the hinged legs make sure the didn't loosen up (re-tighten them) 2. The cross bar for the legs check t see if you need a longer one. 3. Check the screws for the wheels at the base of the legs and make sure they didn't loosen as well

    Hey, I am a stone company and I thought a diode laser to put our logo on all our samples. The diode only works on 30% of our colours. We have tried tape and all sorts of methods. Will a fiber laser work on more colours of stone than the diode laser?

    Purist bottle top nozzle: Is there a method or tool to remove the nozzle? I have some clear tops and can see brown residue in the nozzle that does not disappear with soaking.

    • @YourCouchsucks
      @YourCouchsucks 2 місяці тому

      For those bottles which I use exclusively I'd recommend soaking over night in either bleach or a healthier alternative vinegar. After more or less blast them with some water from the faucet or a hose and rinse them well. They can be a pain to clean!

      The Sculpfun is a great laser and you can do a variety of cool projects with it, but the work area is small 130mm x 130mm. (5"x5") Take a look at the video I did on the Longer Ray 5 laser. Bigger work area 400mm x 400mm (15"x15") though you won't have the filtration etc. that the Sculpfiun has.

    • @YourCouchsucks
      @YourCouchsucks 3 місяці тому

      I haven't specifically done them with a diode laser. The 20watt would likely not be the best as the beam diameter would be pretty wide for the finer details. You've peaked my interest, I may play with that a bit and post a video in the future.

    I would be curious to compare this to my base Mac Studio or MacBook Pro (both 2 yr old M1s) as to cost, speed and energy efficiency. The latter rarely talked about unless discussing laptop battery life. Obviously the PC is modular and the Macs are not but in my years of working on computers I found people rarely did more than upgrade ram or the HD and less as computers progressed-but then again I worked with designers and photographers as opposed to gamers.

      @@YourCouchsucks I am a little bit older racing 60+ now. 😳 I started on a Mac Plus in '89 with a brief stint on a Windows machine supplied to me to do a newsletter before they were really useful for graphics (but still better than pre-desktop publishing machines). Different world now. I'm officially retired but in my last years of 9-5 the only PCs I used/supported were driving a ULS laser and ShopBot CNC machine-no Mac drivers. The 3D printers did have Mac software. The platform is less a factor than it was 20 years ago. I am curious about efficiency because my M1 MacBook Pro is a bit faster than the Intel based MacBook Pro it replaced but the heat generated is significantly less. My M1 barely gets warm when 4K rendering in Zwift and the fan is silent. The Intel's fan would be maxed and the aluminum bottom relatively hot to the touch.

      Correct! Realized after I posted the video. Even right side up the fit is a bit off as the top of laser sags down a bit

    So you warn about lots of dust being produced yet you keep your laptop right next to it? 🤔

    • @YourCouchsucks

      Thank you for the comment. Yep I can blow out the fan and such in the laptop which has been running in the same spot for several years, on top of the fact the black and silver hose to the left of gantry is the ventilation system which sucks out a good amount of the dust

    How well do you think it would heat a 100sqft insulated shed? I’ve turned it into an office and need to find a way to heat it and not be loud.

      In my opinion it would most likely work reasonable well if your insulation is good
